The course “Empowerment and outreach [for natural science students]” focuses on the communication of science both to professional and lay audiences. It shall enhance the skills in creating a successful presentation for different target audiences; skillful use of visualizing tools/materials, managing own resources for their successful employment; and effective work with students, peers and social networks.
Understanding the target audience and the purpose of the presentation. Selecting relevant information. Data protection. Peculiarities of structure and style.
The visual component of the performance. Slides. Gestures and facial expressions of the lecturer. How to interact with the audience? How much information is enough?
Conferences. Presentation structure and organization of slides. Time management during the presentation.
What is a startup? Tools for startup development. Fundraising. Does and Donts when talking to the investor. Which information is important?
What is financial literacy? Rules of financial literacy. Basics of entrepreneurship, business planning. Critical evaluation of own ideas.
