Petro Khoroshyy
Graduate of the Faculty of Biology, Lviv University. Now is a researcher at the Institute of Organic and Biochemistry in Prague. He earned a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Szeged in Hungary in 2013, with a thesis titled "Dynamics of physical processes in proteins studied by kinetic absorption spectroscopy." Prior to this, he worked and studied at the Institute of Biophysics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences from 2002 to 2012. After obtaining his Ph.D., he worked as a postdoc at the Department of Physical Chemistry and Optics at Charles University in Prague from 2013 to 2015, investigating energy transfer in photosynthetic antennae. In 2015, he began working at the Laboratory of Advanced Optical Microscopy at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, where he focused on developing linear dichroism microscopy for studying biological processes. Joined the Confocal Microscopy Service Group and the High Performance Computing Service Group in 2021 at the same institute. From 2016 to 2021, he also served as a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Nanobiology and Structural Biology at the Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
Research interests: Instrumental methods in biology, spectroscopic techniques, microscopic methods, and their combinations.
