I graduated from the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology of Ivan Franko Lviv National University in 2001 and received PhD in molecular genetics in 2005.
For several years I worked at the Niigata University of Pharmacy and Applied Life Sciences (Japan), where I studied the sodium and potassium transport in bacteria; at Harvard Medical School (USA) with the research focus on problems of antibiotic resistance and the biogenesis of bacterial cell walls. In 2012 I joined the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland and Saarland University (Germany), where I was working on biosynthesis of natural compounds and bacterial strain engineering.
Scientific interests: genetics, molecular biology, and genomics of microorganisms, synthetic biology, genetic and genomic engineering.
