Volodymyr Lushchak

Professor of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (PNU), Ivano-Frankivsk.

Doctor of Biological Sciences, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Professor of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (PNU). Graduated from the Department of Biochemistry of the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov (1982), there he completed postgraduate studies and defended his PhD thesis in the specialty Biochemistry (1986). In 2002, he defended his doctoral dissertation in the specialty Biochemistry. From 1987 to 1998, he worked at the Karadag branch of the O. O. Kovalevsky Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kurortne, Feodosia, Crimea), and since 1998 he works at the PNU successively at the positions of associate professor and professor, from 2002 to 2022 he worked as the head of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology. The most important scientific awards: Scopus Award Ukraine 2016, awarded by the Elsevier company "Leader of Ukraine. Web of Science Award 2016" and "Leader of Ukraine. Scopus Award 2018" awarded by Clarivate Analytics.

Scientific interests: free radicals in bacteria, fungi, plants and animals; adaptation of
organisms to adverse environmental factors aging, obesity, diabetes, neuropathology.
