Volodymyr Shvadchak
Employee of the Precarpathian University (Ivano-Frankivsk) and the Institute of Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry (Prague). Doctorate degree in Life sciences (PhD) was obtained from Strasbourg University in 2009 for research work on the development of solvatochromic fluorescent labels for studies of protein interactions. Postdoctoral training was performed at the Institute of Biophysical Chemistry of the Max Planck Society (Germany) and the Twente University (Netherlands) and was focused on the studies of the molecular basis of Parkinson's disease. In 2015, he moved to Prague and started working at the Institute of Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry, where he subsequently led a small group working on the development of inhibitors of the growth of amyloid fibrils in Parkinson's disease. Starting from he 2021 teaches biophysics and instrumental methods at the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpatian University (Ivano-Frankivsk).
Scientific interests: fluorescent dyes, in vitro studies of protein interactions, fluorescent dyes, development of inhibitors of protein reactions, and studies of molecular and kinetic mechanisms of their action, amyloid-related diseases.
